Hermits1963 Inc. (Ontario) is pleased to announce the recipient of its 2025–2026 Canada Hall Scholarship at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago. The scholarship has been awarded to Mr. Raeshaun Lindsay, a third-year Bachelor of Science student in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Lindsay, who is from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, was selected in recognition of his academic performance, commitment to personal development, and active engagement in student hall life. His achievements reflect the diversity, resilience, and values of the Canada Hall community.

Hermits1963 Inc. is dedicated to providing sustainable financial support to students of Canada Hall to assist them in completing their studies at UWI. The organization also collaborates with its alumni partner, The Hermit Foundation (THF), to deliver ongoing support and enhancements to the Canada Hall residence.

The Hermits1963 Inc. scholarship selection committee is comprised of Dwight Reid, Noel Street, Cargil Gordon, and Neil Gordon.

Hermits1963 Inc. congratulates Mr. Lindsay on this achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic pursuits.

Annual Golf Tournament

Primary Funding Source

Hermits1963 Inc. scholarships are mainly funded from the proceeds of an annual golf tournament and contributions from friends of the alumni in Canada and the United States.

The scholarship bursaries are managed through agreement with the American Foundation for the University of The West Indies (AFWUI) in the USA and the Office of Alumni Affairs of the University of the West Indies and the UWI St. Augustine campus administration.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Current resident of Canada Hall, UWI St. Augustine
  • Enrolled full-time at UWI St. Augustine campus
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Good academic standing (minimum GPA requirements)

How to Apply

Applications are managed through the UWI St. Augustine Office of Alumni Affairs in coordination with the Canada Hall administration.
